If like me you will have 100s if not 1000s of images stored on hard drive or on disc.
But which one out of your entire collection would you say is your all time favourite ,the one that sets your heart racing and your imagination working overtime. Lets see the best of the best sweaters (pics can be hosted on tinypic then linked to here)

I have lots of favs but I think I would say this is my one all time favourite.

I find it impossible to answer your question. My taste is changing from time to time. There is always a bunch of pics that I find less attractive than others. But I can't name just a few pics that are on the top of my list (if I could, then your all-time-favourite would be part of it. Lovely!).

There is however a list of charateristics that appeal to me:
- soft sweaters (not too thick, they should move smoothly around your body)
- ribbed sweaters
- cowl necks
- reverse stich (I think that is the english name, in dutch: patent stich)
- batwings

And above that, the lady wearing the sweater on the pic has influence on my appreciation.

Like the man said, taste differs with the day. Also, I would end up categorizing them (turtleneck, crewnec, rollneck, low-cut - mohair, angora...) and it would be an endless and messy list. One that would be fun to go through, though.

But incidentally, one of our most reliable contributors gave me recently a chance to revisit one of my all-time favourite single pics:

She looks so beautiful, the look in her eyes is perfect, the lighting... topped off with a really, really soft sweater. :8)

Yeah I agree, my taste varies as well but Like music there are certain albums that will remain my favs for ever as with images I have certain ones that hit the spot every time and never get bored of seeing.
I was just curious as to what you all class as your fav, I think my favs are a mixture of the sweater and the face and the pose not so much just the sweater.
Thats a gorgeous pic Walter by the way (Im saving that one)

Hi Jodie, folks,

what a question, sorry it is not possible for me to answer it. I can think of many nice pictures and outfits but to pick one as the best, no I can't make the decision.

Woolly greetings,
Joe Al

Thanks for posting this one Jodie - it's a fascinating question and has all the signs of continuing on to be a long thread.

For myself, I can reduce it to two variables: first, the garment (the material, the cut); and second, who's wearing it! This established, the next most important factor, again for myself, is that it fits well in all the right places and hangs loose in all the right places.

My personal favourites are here:

...but I can probably narrow it down further and say that I'd love to see her

Hi Jodi- and everyone! I just joined today, and wow! what a great site- Cant believe I missed it all this time - As far as my favorite pic goes, the styles and types of wool I like don't really change- but I'm adding to my favorites all the time-I have a huge collection- at the moment I am sorting through my supermodel files, and I really like this Christy Turlington pic http://i5.tinypic.com/4kamalk.jpg
PS- I Love your photo site jodi- You have great taste :D

Thanks for asking. Here's what gets me going:

1) Cute young "girl next door" with nice skin, nice friendly eyes and warm smile, preferably Asian or other honey-brown-skinned beauty, wearing....

2) A soft, fuzzy and definitely WOOLLY sweater, preferably wool or mohair or angora (in that order), somewhat thick and chunky so I can imagine really digging my hands into it. (I'm not turned on by the thin, un-fuzzy, spandex-looking tops I often see posted around here).

3) Light, feminine colors ... white, cream, dusty pink, light blue etc. Other than that I enjoy a variety of shapes and styles of sweaters... cardigans, pullovers, turtlenecks. Interesting collars and long thick cuffs are a plus.
