The Night Listener
In the recent DVD film "The Night Listener," Teri Collette and Robin Williams are in the basement of her house. Teri says, "Do you wanna see my sweater?" She pulls a red mohair cowlneck out of her knitting bag and tells Robin to turn around, which he does. She puts on the sweater--quite a wonderful show in slow motion--and tells him it's okay to turn around again. "How does it look?" Robin is unenthusiastic (his character is gay). "Nice..." "Go ahead, feel it. Feel how soft it is!" (Hoo boy, I almost had a kitten!) Again, he mumbles something stupid and she's pissed off because she takes his lack of interest as a rejection.
That's the end of the scene and the end of the sweater (sadly) for the rest of the film. It's a short scene but worth watching several times, especially with Teri's sparkling line, "Do you wanna see my sweater?"
