Shopping for a mohair sweater
I've often thought about buying a new handknit mohair sweater online, but I'm a little nervous about handing my money over through a webpage. If there are any of you that have bought mohairs online before, I'd like to hear about your experiences (both good and bad). In particular, I'm curious if anyone has bought anything from the following two sellers: http://www.creapulka-sweaters.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.mohairfrance.com/sweater.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I'd also appreciate any recommendations of other quality sellers.
Thank you and stay fluffy!

I'm considering buying this one:

Can anyone speak for this site? What about purchases from the US?
I'm hoping I can get this for one of my sweater girls to wear on cam. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a few pics either

Re: Shopping for a mohair sweater
Hi,
I have bought several sweaters from http://uniquemohair.8m.com/index.html where you talk to Brigitte Chievres who lives in Canada and from http://www.dressforlife.com/. Both were very professional and the orders were knitted straight after the request. No hassle with shipping etc. The quality of the items were also top class.
I have bought 4 items (two sweaters, a pair of slacks and a pair of shorts) from Mohairknitter in the UK, but that was a nightmare. It took ages before I got the things I ordered, I had to keep reminding Isobel about 4 times in 4 months before the items was finally shipped.

These two are specially ordered from Dressfor life. The gray one was for me and the yellow for my date (who didn't like it), I never meet my real dream sweater lady,

Re: Shopping for a mohair sweater
I have bought sweaters from AN Design and akso Modetempel. Both sweaters were delivered promptly and were very nice quality. The sweater from Modetempel is absolutely fantastic.

Hi...
I can honestly reccomend doing any intended purchase thru' Fleabay.. & then pay for it via Paypal.. You don't then have to keep putting your details online..
The knitters listed above arre all very good & extremely straight,.
IF, you do go with privately arranged purchase, then the best thing to do is send the seller the card details in two seperate emails ( a day, or a few hours even, apart); give them part of number (1st & 3rd sets, then second & fourth or any combination, put the expiry date on one email, with cardholder name only, then in the other, the verification code & the card type (Visa, Solo whatever)..
The chances of the two emails being put together by anyone else are minimal.
Make sure you delete the emails when you're happy that you're done.

Re: Shopping for a mohair sweater
I have a new friend who has knitted me some lovely items and she has given me permission to tell you all about her here on Melody and she will welcome any genuine enquiries.
Based in the UK she is totally independant but doesn't have a website (yet)
She is very reliable and reasonably priced - she will ask for part payment with your order then the balance before shipping.
She will pace herself and is determined not to get bogged down with orders and start to let people down, so don't be offended if she can't do your order straight away.
I can now reveal who this lovely person is:

Just a quick message to remove spammer's name from post list so it is not seen when he comes back.
