Shopping for sweaters
Shopping for sweaters
Over the years one thing I have really missed att these forums is tips on where to shop for fuzzy sweaters. Sometimes it feels like everyone is just shopping these super gigantic fuzzy creations found on ebay. For me those are lovely but my wife who is the one I like to see in fuzzy sweaters would never ever use something like that.
Well anyway I thought it would be time to start a new thread regardign this since the sweaterseason is really coming here in Sweden and Europe and start of be making the first tip. I was in Berlin this weekend. Still maybee to much summer there but stumbled upon a really great boutique called Stefanel. They also have stores almost all over europe. Wow what a collection of fuzzy sweaters, cardigans, scarfs etc. and wow the staff who also uses the clothes they sell. If you go into their website http://www.stefanel.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think you will know what I mean. Plenty of cardigans and sweaters in both angora and mohair. Rather expensive shop but worth every penny.
Also Marcopolo and Benneton seemed to have plenty of knitted things in mainly wooll. Had some colleagues with me aswell so didn´t have the possibility to look around that much but will defintely make a visit to these stores here in Sweden .

Re: Shopping for sweaters
We are a pretty international forum, so tips are kind of hard to convey. In general, most chain stores worth their salt are moving in the sweater collections for fall and winter very soon. But for the real deal (100 % wool, and the expensive types), it is eBay - or perhaps even the big fashion houses if wool is trendy.
Links are always welcome to stores, no matter what. For shoppping tips or eye candy. I loved the cover girl here, in the big grey set. Pity it is so hard to download pics from Flash Player.

If you:
- go to the site
- select Enter
- Select Kollection
- Select Fall Winter 08
then you see a small white box with "i" in it on the lower right side of the window. If you select that box, you can download a PDF with the whole collection in quite good resolution.

Re: Shopping for sweaters
Hi,
Moonman hit the spot. No big and bigger and b..b..b..bigger s..s..s..weaters for me either... I 've been looing around as well but no results yet for googling angora fashion 2008-2009 so far. Only some reviews, or let's say forecasts that coming northern hemisphere winter will be packed with knits, wool, cashmere, angora, mohair.
Classy, tight fitting, angora fashion is what I look for.

Re: Shopping for sweaters
Well I'd like to defend eBay sellers here
You can find good design on eBay and not only "monster sized" sweaters. Have a look at some sweaters on my site here - http://dressforlife.com and on ebay at http://stores.ebay.com/dressforlife as well.
How about some sweaters like these: 1, 2, 3
Best of luck to you all!

Re: Shopping for sweaters
Thanks for download tips.
I am pretty far north myself, and this is high-season for sweaters. Too cold to dress lightly, not cold enough for heavy jackets. From the look of things, cardis are very trendy this year. I'm a turtleneck-fan, but I wouldn't be much of a woolie if I couldn't appreciate a nice cardi.
