sweater questions
sweater questions
i love to see the beautiful thick wool sweaters that are posted here. the ebay sellers like Gabby cat, Super Tanya and the other sellers like creapulka and modetempel have amazing sweaters. one of these days i wish to own one
here is my question. i live in Chicago and i never see sweaters like these. Do people (women) really where these in public? i would love to see a sweater like on of these out in public. actually i would love my wife to see one so that i could make a comment.
Are women in Europe wear sweaters like this more often. we get cold winters here but i just find that there are fewer and fewer women wearing bulky wool or mohair sweaters where can i find these?
i would also love to see pics of women in public wearing thick wool sweaters i believe there was a thread on fetishpix that had pictures of women in public in sweaters Maybe we could start one?

Re: sweater questions
This has to do with the different climate in North America. You do not have such long spring and autumn season we have in Europe, so women are rapidly switching from summer clothing to super thick down jackets and coats (which are another fetish of mine ). Under down, thick wool is not very comfortable so they are wearing thin wool or modern materials which are not very sexy. In Europe, you see mostly women and girls in thick cardigans and sweatercoats when it is not too cold. They are also nice to put them over when you have a cold breeze in spring or autumn.
Re: sweater questions
So just ask me, why spring or autumn are my favorite seasons

Re: sweater questions
Here in the UK, September brings cooler days and chilly evenings. This goes on until December when (sometimes) the colder weather arrives and we have winter until February. Best of all - all the winter fashions arrive in the shops. Autumn is my fav time of year. Wooly scarves, gloves, sweater dresses and thick woolly tights and furry boots. Can't wait.
Naomi.

Re: sweater questions
I think very few, if any ladies would be willing to wear a 'fetish' sweater out in public. You might find more of them willing to wear a fuzzy sweater from a main-stream store or fashion designer. The problem there is that the mainstream stores have to be willing to stock them. And I doubt we'll see a line of mohair or angora sweaters appearing anywhere anytime soon. They are too expensive compared to using acrylics and they require too much care when compared to acrylic. You can't just throw a mohair sweater in the washer and dryer.

Re: sweater questions
My wife has two Modetempel cardigans/coats and has worn them out several times. She complains that one of them is very heavy (she has MR-HS-29) but always gets compliments when she wears them out in public. She also has a Christian Dior 1999 mohair cardigan (everyone remembers that one from the cover of Vogue magazine) and wears that quite often.
Re: sweater questions
as it became common knowledge, angora is still trendy in japan, but what you can see for real isn't so exciting, cheap fabric (except for the hats). Still, Japanese women tend to wrap themselves with fuzzy things, so I cannot complain, even though it is not comparable with the retro fashion.
The best fuzzy mohair sweaters i have seen were worn by guys! there is still some "punk" fashion going on here.
But this winter, i notices a woman in a department store with the largest mohair sweater, it was a beauty, in fact quite fashionable. I hope she inspires more women for the next winter.
