I found this place rather boring recently. Too many fashion links, less interesting sweater and cardigan related stuff. Other areas (for example flickr) have been much more interesting recently ....

Cheers, Kate

The fashion links are popular enough, but it hasn't happened much else, is how I would put it. Every forum has ups and downs, but in the end it is up to all the members. You as well, KT.

Well I would beg to differ,as Walter points out a forum depends on those contributing to it.Idont have the time to make many postsbut I try my hardest to read all posts and reply to them. But I would never have the nerve to fault or complain about the bloody hard work everybody does here.
I havent seen many contributions from you kate. Your last post was in Sept. As they say you cant blame the traffic if you are the traffic. give us an idea of what excitement you require by posting a thread and it might liven things up for you.

Rant over Jodie xx

Picking up on Walter's comment, my experience is that the good stuff comes in waves, so keep your surf board (or mouse) ready. Of course, your definition of "good stuff" isn't necessarily the same as mine.

Although Kate's way of putting it is rather negative (and I agree with everyone else that you get out of it what you put into it - so how about sharing some of those Flickr links with us...eh?), she does have a point in saying that things have gotten rather sleepy around here. Not just in this forum, but in all the wool & sweater fetish forums on the Web. And so it is a point worth discussing. I have a few thoughts about the matter.

1) Too many lurkers. To all those people out there who come here just to find links that others have posted... how about contributing something once in awhile?

2) Non-descriptive and non-fuzzy posts are lame. Sorry to criticize, but if people are going to post links to images that aren't fuzzy and/or woolly, I wish they'd label them "non-fuzzy" so we wool fetishists don't have to waste our time clicking on them. It would also be nice if more people would use thumbnails (fotopic or whatever, since this forum doesn't offer much in the way of photo posting) rather than sharing lists of links. Though links are better than nothing, I suppose.

3) This forum is pretty hard to find. Do a google search for "wool fetish forum" and it isn't anywhere near the top of the list. It seems that when the old melody site disappeared, we lost a lot of members.

4) Lastly, I'd attribute the slowness to what can only be called "Forum Burnout Syndrome". Some of us who used to post a lot more get tired of it after awhile for various reasons... we feel like we're spending too much time on it, we feel our efforts are under-appreciated, or the buzz of finding sweater pictures on the web just isn't as alluring as it was a few years ago. Time for some new blood! (See #1)

I consider myself semi-retired from this forum posting business, now that my Fotopic album is all filled up. I still post photo findings in the Scanlover forum though. Feel free to drop by sometime....

There are a lot of gems to be found in all these posts. Thank you to those who have taken the time to submit them.

Maybe it's global warming and it's been too warm for wool? Most of the galleries in the "link list" that Joe Al set up have not been updated by the their owners either.

It would be nice to be able to post photos directly on this site. Any plans for that? :)

Flickr, photopic and all those others are ok. But having a home base to share pix would be nice.

I agree with jodie - and I like woolchucks site aswell- I am a design student and love fashion-I dont know if you want vulgar hard porn here-for that I can go elsewhere-I love all the effort put in- for me clicking on now and then makes my day-from lovely tiroler to jodies awsome site -she has such elegant styles- like in my course-hardly boring

Ok
Im gonna make a new years resolution to try and make a post at least once a week and label them fuzzy or non fuzzy. I myself quite like fashion sweater shots as much as fuzzy shots and hope they keep coming from the likes of Tiroler and Eva.

I prefer fuzzy, but I have seen so many beautiful non-fuzzies, I have quit being a fanatic. If anyone would like top label links, please do, it's a great service. But I think most of us would prefer non-labelled instead of no links. After all, our most contributing members put a lot of work into it as it is.

As for traffic, I have not been the most busy member myself, even if I read all the posts. Life's been kinda busy, what can I say? That too comes in waves, though.

Global warming? I just had to rinse my hands twice in hot water just to get my fingers working on the keyboard, this after a short drive from my well heated office - wearing very thick gloves. And I have had quite a few real-life sweater sightings (and handling) over the last few months. Admittedly, many boring sweaters.
