Re: Zoom - Discussion thread, Q&A, WIPs, etc
Great. Go for it. I sometimes battle with the code behind a page trying to get at the original image - especily if I think the resulting image quality is worth the effort, or even simply make the "zoom" box full screen so I can grab it using my imaging app - used to be able to do that with the Heine web catalogue.
I don't know whether it's best to break the discussion by site, then by method - maybe best as we know a sites name - and can then direct to the correct thread for discussing the actually fals based zoom gizmo.
Breaking it down by viewer first and then site means knowing what the zoom gizmo is. For example, your other thread included http://www.quelle.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - this uses the zoom viewer from http://www.fsi-viewer.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
First way is probably most accessible I guess.
Naomi.

Sounds good. Keep it as simple as you can and keep us posted

I believe that the wiki in the Den still works for this site too. I would have to check with AK but think that is correct. (depends on the way that memberships are linked.) You can use a thread here, but if you would like to, we could use a wiki page to do this. I think you would likely need to have a "thread" too somehow in order to be able to answer questions, etc. But that is I think possible if you would like to do it. We could simply place a Library link, and for now place one page in there that could be expanded if needed. It is very easy to program in wiki. We have had members learn it in no time. Not a lot different from learning how to use the forums the first time. Or I could do the set up and you could simply enter the information.
The advantage to a wiki page to do it is that a thread here will be lost in history under hundreds of other threads in no time. If you do it in wiki, it is always INSTANTLY available to members even one, two, five years out.
Our home pages for the two sites for instance are wiki based. Also, members who donate at a certain level can make their own pages. This is the one that FrBrGr made. It might give you an idea what it might look like. ..... http://vdsden.thefurden.com/fdwiki/?n=Sponsors.FrBrGr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also if you go to the Den, and click "links" it might give you some ideas on what it might look like.
Also, Worker11811 might be able to help if there are any formats that you cannot do, etc. He is generally pretty good at that sort of thing.

When you want to go ahead just let me know. In the mean time I will contact AKcoyote just in case we need to do any upgrading to get ready.
You can make the basic page, or I can. Either way is fine. Just let me know when you are ready. I try to come here often, but it might be a good idea to PM me on the fur site if you are a member there as I might get a pm quicker on that one.

Regarding the wiki(s)...
While there is no immediate need to upgrade our wiki(s), there is a newer version of the wiki software that I do need to get ready to install. But that is irrelevant to this discussion.
There are several options for how we can proceed. The two that initially occur to me are:
A) Setup a new wiki for Melody users that would use the Melody database instead of the Fur Den database for user authentication (Needed for controlling edit privileges). This would not be difficult, but would take a few days to get properly setup and tested.
B) Any Melody user not already registered on the Fur Den forums can register there and then edit the Den's wiki. This would be the easiest solution for the admins, but may not be the best way to proceed.
