I'm male and in private I like to wear knitted hats/berets with pompoms on them, the bigger the pompom the better. In public I don't like to wear such items (I see it more feminine or "cute") however I LOVE seeing women wearing them. As for couples, again in private both me and the female would wear it, however in public I would only wish her to wear it. Don't forget about pompoms on other items such as sweaters, cardigans, ponchos, scarves, mittens, arm/leg warmers, headbands etc. Usually when the pompoms are knitted onto the garment (except for a hat/beret) they call it "popcorn stitching" or "popcorn knit".

women DO look sexy with pompom on the hat agreed!!!
mind you its not unheard of to see me with a pompom on my hat from time to time

i rarely go outdoors without a woolen hat anyway

Of course a real wool hat must have a huge and fluffy pom at the top ! I love also poms at the end of each link when tied under the chin.

I pretty much always have a woollen hat on, and id say 90% of my hats have a POMPOM
